Storm Huts & Peaches

5/27/2013

Since we have such forceful winds where we are, we decided that our seedlings needed little "Storm Huts" to help them stabilize a little better in the garden. We cut the tops and bottoms off Powerade Bottles and slipped them around the seedlings. That way they still get sun and rain, but the wind doesn't knock them over before they can get stronger.

Peaches: Our peach tree seems to be getting a lot of little buds on them! Very excited about this! We were told that it would take 3-5 years before we got anything from our fruit trees. This is the second year and so far our peach trees are doing the best. Last year (a couple months after we planted them) we got 5 peaches from one of our trees!
