Today we went Barn Scouting. What is Barn Scouting you ask? Well, it is something we totally made up, but describes what we do to a T. Me, Keil and our friend Nova, go out to the edges of town on the dirt roads, driving until we get "lost" or until we find a cool barn that is about to fall down or has lots of character. Then we all get out, Petey included, and take pictures of the structures, from all angles. Sometimes imagining what life was like when the barn was first built and the stories that this barn has lived. We usually do this right after work when the sun is an hour or so from setting, that way we get the best pictures of the sunsets. In this set of photos we also ran into a cemetery from the 1800's. It was overgrown, to say the least, but it was still beautiful in its own way. Sadly many of the headstones were of children under the age of 5. Some of the headstones were sinking into the ground, and some were missing. The designs on some of them were so pretty and simple. CLICK ON PHOTOS TO SEE LARGER
