It has been such a fun day full of friends, good food, fun, and lots of laughs. We spent the morning hours passing out homemade marshmallows to some friends in and out of town. The weather was pretty, cold, but pretty. Around noon we went to our friends, the Essman's, for lunch and to spend time with their family. It was great to visit with those we haven't seen in a while. The food was... Oh. My. Goodness. So yummy! We had prime rib and all the fixin's. We felt spoiled, for sure :) As things started to wind down a little and it was movie watching time, we ducked out to pass a few more marshmallows out and then got the goodies ready to take over to the Nichols' for dinner.

Every year, the "boys" as I call them - Andy, Danny, and Randy - put out a spread of yummy food and fun conversation for any holiday that involves food. Three bachelor, former military guys that are brothers. Each one can cook really well, and some years they turn the holiday into a cook off. They don't believe in low fat foods, as everything has at least a stick of butter in it, and they usually top it all off with bacon. The table setting is my favorite. They don't worry about making it pretty, usually there are tools and such scattered around. A couple of years ago was my favorite. A wrench, a packet of chewing tobacco, holsters, a gun or two, a handkerchief, car keys, and their 52 oz. Pump & Pantry mugs of soda. Perfect!

Sorry, I digressed for a minute there. We had a lovely, manly, time at the boys, the food was delish as usual and the razzing was quite comical. Once we left there we handed out a few more bags of marshmallows, until it got too cold and we settled in for the evening. It was a whirlwind day, full of great friends and lasting memories. We were able to talk to some of our family on the phone and then we snuggled in with our littles, turned on the tv and the fireplace, and snuggled in for the night. We pray that each and everyone of your had a great Christmas. Love you and miss you all
