Having very thick hair is fun but it can also be quite a drag. Since I was a teenager, I thought it would be fun to shave my head - my mom wanted no part of it! :) And everyone one said - "Please don't do that to your beautiful hair!" So I decided it was best to take into consideration all of the comments and put it off until I had the guts or a good reason to do it.
A couple of months ago I found out that a very dear family member has breast cancer and they are starting her out with chemo to reduce the golf ball size tumor. Through her treatment she has already started losing her hair. She has not gotten to the point of shaving it - so I thought - why not do mine anyways to show her my support! I asked my hubby if it would be ok to shave mine and donate the 24+ inches of thick hair to Locks of Love. He said he would love to do the honors.

UPDATE: Well as you can see, I kept the Mohawk for a little while :) My favorite haircut to date :)

Perks of having no hair
- use less shampoo
- got to see that I have a pretty head under all this hair - although very white! :)
- it's just hair - it will grow back
- get to try out fun wigs
- less hair in the drains
