I Sure Love Our Before & Afters

I know you’ve all seen the beginning of this video already, but I decided to add to it a little to represent how far we’ve come on our bedroom. Still more to do, but I still can’t believe how far we’ve come.

My favorite is the end, I echo how peaceful our new bedroom is.

Yard Work

Today was an AMAZING day with beautiful weather and even better company! We spent the entire day out in our new yard. Keil sprayed the yard for weeds, we cut down some trees that were growing next to the deck, we cleaned up the flower beds, trimmed up the volunteer trees that were taking up a good chunk of the garden, and we removed as much of the invasive catnip that the prior owner had let take over a good part of the garden area. We still need to till up the garden area and get the area ready for planting. This week will be getting the tomato, jalapeño, pumpkin, and cabbage plants transplanted in bigger pots so we can give them a little more "leg room" until we can plant them in the garden after the last frost/freeze. Below are some Before & After pics of what we got done. Up top is Keil using the hedge trimmer my dad gave us. He was having fun being Edward Scissorhands for the morning (see video below for a flashback of the actual Edward Scissorhands trimming hedges and the neighborhood dogs). :)

The Smallest Cement Mixer I've Ever Seen

On to the basement. For the most part, the basement is in ok shape. There are some places that are worse then others that we are trying to take care of before they get too bad. So to help us with the process we found a good deal on a small cement mixer in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Putting it together was not very fun for Keil. It came with instructions... well sort of. Most of it was actual gibberish and none of the nuts and bolts had instructions on where they were supposed to go. But I have to say, he did a pretty good job of figuring it out!

We (I use that term lightly, I helped a little - this is mostly Keil's hard work, since he does it before work in the morning) finished the first section and we are now waiting for it to dry/cure. Keil made these forms that he is using in steps, so far it is working pretty well. Some fine tuning and maybe by the time we have finished all the walls, we will have it down to an exact science. LOL
