While in Cheyenne for my birthday, I got these very cute shelves for our spices. I finally had time today to hang them in the kitchen. I am so excited with how they turned out and how much space it frees up! Now we just need to cut the butcher block for the countertop and that space will be done!

When we first moved in we bought the “over the toilet” shelf unit. Though we like the color, it was never our intention to keep it long term. We really wanted to find the right look. During our trip to Cheyenne a week ago we found these shelves on sale. And we instantly loved them to replace the over the toilet unit. Today I put the the espresso ones on line and within 10 minutes I had a buyer. We got what we paid for it minus about $5 for wear & tear. So we consider this a Win! Now to find exactly where to put these on the wall. Cause once we start putting a hole in the lath & plaster we need to be pretty committed.
On the opposite wall we are putting the shelves I built a few months ago, but hanging those is a two person job, so those will have to wait until we have time to do it together. UPDATE: When Keil got home last night we decided to hang the rest of the shelves. I love how much it opened up the space. We still have the small white shelf and a hand towel rack to hang but so far I am really excited! You probably remember when we had to take down the old chimney that was going through the attic and out through the old roof. After we took it down and cleaned off the bricks they sat in a pile in our garage waiting for the perfect project to use them for. Well today was the day! We lined the pathways in the garden with them and have some left over. We are loving the look of the bricks. Making the pathways quite historical looking. We first put down weed barrier and then finished it up with some aromatic cedar to help with the bugs that are taking over parts of the garden. Still need to put the rest of the cedar down, but we are loving the overall look so far.
