It’s Garden Time! Here is what’s been going on in that part of the yard. At the first part of the year, I had only planned on planting a couple of pumpkins. I told myself, nothing too big, just something to get me back into gardening. And then… my coworker had some extra cabbage plants, and then they had a sale at the market on jalapeño and tomato plants, and then my coworker brought in some extra celery and basil plants, and then, and then, and so on it went. LOL So now we have a nice size garden :). Everything but the pumpkins have been planted. Keil got the sprinklers working and they are on their OWN system. WOW! Feeling pretty spoiled! Testing out the sprinklers!

We made it through the Blizzard of 2018. Almost 36 hours without constant power. So thankful for the small spurts of power that speckled the last two days. We learned so many things and realized we were not prepared at all... except for the amount of wood Keil had prepared for the wood stove. That is the only thing that keep us warm. Some of our friends weren’t so lucky. They ended up with cars stuck in 6ft snow drifts, accidents, cattle missing, and freezing temps in their homes.
Oh my I can't stop laughing at that one. LOL
ANYWAYS... This morning our local plumber came over and installed our gas line so we can hook up the gas range we bought. Here are some pics Keil took of the process. He had to drill through the floor to install the shut-off valve. Luckily that part of the kitchen isn't 100% finished yet. After connecting everything to the right places, Keil hooked up the new (to us) range and tested a couple of burners!! Now to finish cleaning the new stove so we can use it without cringing :). P.S. Keil did an amazing job cleaning it so far. He got most of the "baked on" goodies out of both of the ovens. Now to work on the nooks & crannies. Pictures of that will be uploaded at a later date. :) |
