A few little changes to the house that didn't really need their own separate blog posts. I got some new switchplate covers for some of the outlets (mainly in the kitchen). We also got a new rug for the kitchen that Tom LOVES. And last but not least we changed the hardware on our kitchen cabinets to a more updated style (and so we would stop getting hooked on them).

While in Cheyenne for my birthday, I got these very cute shelves for our spices. I finally had time today to hang them in the kitchen. I am so excited with how they turned out and how much space it frees up! Now we just need to cut the butcher block for the countertop and that space will be done!

You probably remember when we had to take down the old chimney that was going through the attic and out through the old roof. After we took it down and cleaned off the bricks they sat in a pile in our garage waiting for the perfect project to use them for. Well today was the day! We lined the pathways in the garden with them and have some left over. We are loving the look of the bricks. Making the pathways quite historical looking. We first put down weed barrier and then finished it up with some aromatic cedar to help with the bugs that are taking over parts of the garden. Still need to put the rest of the cedar down, but we are loving the overall look so far.
