Arbor Day in Nebraska is actually a state celebrated holiday where banks, county & state buildings, and (I think) the post office are closed for the day. They give away trees to be planted and everything! So we got a tree this year. A Honey Locust to be specific. They don’t come in the best packaging - this one came with a black trash bag tied to the bottom and some hay placed to keep the bare roots company? Who knows. We are taking bets as to whether this will survive since it is a pretty base stick with no off-shoots at the moment. So we planted it in the middle of the wild roses on the parkway. Fingers crossed :)
