 | On to day 2. Oh what a day! First we had to move all the paneling that I had ripped off the walls the day before and put in the trailer...while wearing respirators...in 90 degree weather. Once we had that finished we had to prep the walls in the living room to be primed with Kilz. Plus there was a little more paneling that I couldn't get to the day before, so that needed to come down too. |
We found a secret door way under the paneling! That was pretty cool. I really want to turn it into a usable space - like a book case or something.
Then came time to paint. This was actually kind of bittersweet. We both really loved the vintage wallpaper that was on the wall and the ceiling, but since it was cigarette smoke damaged there wasn't really a way to salvage it without the smell coming through. We felt like we were painting over history :(. I do have a few pieces that we could seal up and maybe hang somewhere.
