Sorry the posts have been few and far between. I will try to catch everyone up with what's going on. So let's start with this weekend! Here are the projects we are working on...
Keil's Closet
Our house has ONE closet, and Keil said I could have the one in our bedroom. So we are custom building him one in the spare bedroom. We have discussed so many options for how to build it, and finally decided we just needed to get one built. We still have more work to do on it, plus we need to find the shelf pegs as they got lost in the last move. LOL Will post pics when we finish it.
Log Holder for Wood Stove Wood
Thanks to our friend Brandon and the telephone pole company, we got a SMASHING deal on Douglas Fir logs for the wood stove. (Click here to see original post if you missed it.) Currently our yard looks like a CrossFit Obstacle Course or a Log Rolling Training Camp. So Keil is building a Log Holder to hold them all. It not only will hold all the firewood, but it will also block they hideous, decayed plywood chicken coop in our neighbors yard. Will post a pic when it’s finished and full of firewood.
New (to us) Gas Range
**This one is quite a doozy, so if you have a weak stomach just scroll on past.**
Last week I (Jennifer) was on Facebook and noticed a really nice gas range with a double oven. I did my research, called the company (Habitat for Humanity Restore), got the model number, asked questions, etc. Everything seemed “good to go” except the gal said it needed “a good scrubbin”. Keil and I talked it over and we really felt like it was a GREAT deal. So I called, paid for it over the phone and some friends of ours picked it up and held it at their house until we could get it this weekend. So yesterday we ventured down to Colorado to pick it up. When we got to our friends house and gave the oven and once over, we about gagged. I couldn’t believe the horror this oven had seen in it’s short 5 years of life. We were pretty torn. It was a really good deal for the range, I mean it has a DOUBLE OVEN! But it was disgusting. So we talked it over and decided not to return it, Keil and our friend Roy were pretty convincing that we should be able to get it clean. So here are the Before pictures. Pray that we can get it to where the After pictures are outstanding :)

Kitchen Faucet & Sink Shopping
Our kitchen is coming right along. Sunday, while we were in Colorado, we decided to take a look at the kitchen faucets and sinks they have out there. The sink we have now has rust on some of the top part, but it is still functional. So this was primarily a “window shopping” kind of outing. The faucet on the other hand is really starting to take a turn. So we started looking at what we would replace it with. With the sink, we really like the one bowl type sink instead of the divided sink. So we have been looking at those.
