| Yesterday while Keil was ripping out the faux wood paneling in the kitchen, part of the plaster came off the chimney revealing the beautiful brick underneath. Once I saw this I asked if it would be possible to take off the rest of the plaster and not drywall over the brick. So that is our plan. After consulting with my dad (a former brick mason with my grandfather) about how to best get the plaster off, we have decided to keep as much of it revealed as we can instead of covering it back up! Now if only we could keep the lath exposed, I just love the way it looks! Just gorgeous! But sadly we have to drywall over it. |

See if you can find shiplap. Or old barn wood.
