Fergie

Meet the newest member of our family... Her name is Fergie. She was born on our friends farm in November of 2010. We had just lost Mercedes during Thanksgiving and we were not ready for a new cat (neither was Bear). So we waited. Every time I went to Dan & Bec's, Dan would bring in this little black & white kitten. I tried very hard not to get attached to it but ended up falling in love with her. We waited until she got a little bigger so she would be weened from her mom. During that time she left the farm and went for an adventure. She was gone for almost 2 weeks. Unfortunately she was gone when we had a really big storm and -50 degree winds. When she came back to the farm her ears were bent, and Dan noticed that she had frost bite on the tips. Later that week, the top third of both of her ears fell off. So we took her to the vet. The vet said that she will be fine and her ears should heal up nicely. Then we took her home. Introduced her to Petey and Bear.

Petey was in love! He followed her everywhere, always kept an eye on her and even let her play with his tail. Bear on the other hand - was quite miffed - and she sure let Fergie know it! A growl growl here, and a hiss hiss there. That went on for the first month. Now they get along until one gets attention and the other one gets jealous. They chase each other around the house like they are playing tag. It is nice to see Bear getting more exercise!

She is now 4 months old and about a week ago she lost two of her baby teeth. She is getting bigger and settling nicely into our home and as part of the family. As I type this she is sleeping in my lap, purring. xxoo
